Walk-in Registrations are GLADLY accepted. 

 

In order to prepare for the conference, we have closed pre-registration, however there is still room at the conference and you are encouraged to come and register the day of the event. 

 

Accreditations

The Ohio State University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Physicians

The Ohio State University Medical Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7.5 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.

 

Athletic Trainers

The OSU Sports Medicine Center is an Approved Provider of continuing education for athletic trainers. This program has been approved for 7.5 continuing education units by The Board of Certification for Certified Athletic Trainers.

 

EMS

The Ohio State University Center for EMS is an Approved Provider of continuing education for EMS personnel. A total of 7 possible hours of continuing education credits will be awarded to EMTs and paramedics who participate in this conference. EMS personnel must attend the entire conference to receive a CEU certificate. Approval #2214, expiration date 2/16/2011.

 

Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants

This program has been approved by the OPTA for 7.5 CEUs for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants. 

 

Each participant should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

 

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the participant should be able to:

  • Manage the care of athletes who have sustained concussion including acute sideline evaluation and clinical follow-up to minimize long-term effects of head injury.
  • Counsel patients on the long-term risks vs benefits of running.
  • Explain diagnosis and management of knee, hip and shoulder injuries and long-term consequences of these injuries in physically active people.
  • Review current concepts in rehabilitation of hip injuries in physically active people, including athletes, dancers and recreational exercisers.
