Description	According to the American Speech, Language and Hearing association, Conductive hearing loss occurs when sound is not conducted efficiently through the outer ear canal to the eardrum and the tiny bones, or ossicles, of the middle ear. Conductive hearing loss usually involves a reduction in sound level, or the ability to hear faint sounds. This type of hearing loss can often be medically or surgically corrected. This activity is supported in part by educational grants from Merck and Astellas.

Describe components of a comprehensive audiogram and define conductive hearing loss by audiometric and physical exam parameters. 3.) Recall the common causes of conductive hearing loss and appreciate their medical/surgical management. 4.) Describe options for aural rehabilitation in patients with conductive hearing loss.
