At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
1.) Diagnose and treat benign and malignant hematologic disorders more effectively.
2.) Discuss state-of-the-art research in hematology.
3.) Analyze the potential contribution of novel, not-yet-approved modalities of therapy to current evidence-based management for hematologic disorders.
The diagnosis and treatment of both benign and malignant hematological disorders have undergone substantial changes since the last ASH review in 2013. As the pace of novel developments in the care of these patients hastens, it has become increasingly difficult for practicing clinicians to maintain adequate competency on state of the art care.
The most up to date treatment options are reviewed and discussed at the National ASH Meeting, however many of our local and regional physicians are not able to attend this national conference. All speakers who participate in the Ohio State’s ASH annual review are recognized experts in their fields and have recently attended the National ASH Meeting and have obtained valuable information regarding updated treatment options in the field of hematology. Ohio State will distribute this information to the many internal and community physicians, researchers, and other clinicians who will attend the ASH Review to help close some professional practice gaps within hematolog
