Description

Surgeons and other healthcare professionals need to know how the future of healthcare will affect the way they practice.  Surgeons find it important to review current trends in techniques and managing complications.  Review of current advances in complex general surgery enables surgeons to improve patient care. More specifically,  how trends may relate to minimally invasive fields of endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, hernia repair, bariatric surgery and healthcare economics.  Surgeons are finding that the ever changing economy is affecting the way they practice, work and teach.  The continuing medical education activity will discuss The overview of services lines and disease specific medicine related to minimally invasive surgery, healthcare costs and surgeon training.

4)  Discuss the disparities in healthcare for diabetes and obesity;
5)  Identify and describe the management of complications for minimally invasive surgical procedures;
6)  Explore the economic challenges hospitals face; budget, accountable care organizations, fee for
services to pay quality.
