Objectives
- Discuss the impact of opiate prescription pain versus alternative therapies for pain management on addiction and overdose
- Discuss a multidisciplinary and integrative approach to pain management
- Identify non-pharmacological methods for the treatment of chronic and acute pain
- Understand the benefits of and indications for the use of acupuncture; chiropractic care, osteopathic medicine; mind-body therapies; therapeutic massage and and integrative nutrition consults in the treatment of acute and chronic pain
- Recognize common conditions ans symptoms associated with acute and chronic pain that can be treated with integrative medicine modalities
