AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY AND OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER, WE ARE CONTINUALLY MONITORING AND UPDATING OUR RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK. WE CONTINUE TO ALIGN OUR RECOMMENDATIONS WITH AND FOLLOW GUIDELINES FROM THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION, THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION AND OTHER CITY, STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES. IN OUR EFFORTS TO BE PROACTIVE AND MAINTAIN THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR FACULTY, STAFF AND THE COMMUNITY, WE HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO POSTPONE THE THIS CME ACTIVITY UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A FORMAT HAS BEEN DESIGNED THAT ALLOWS THE BEST PRESENTATION OF THIS EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY .
With continued prevalence of obesity in our society ,there is critical need for surgical and non-surgical approaches to help with weight loss . In order for physicians, nurses, dietitians, allied health professionals to provide their patients with high quality care, they must have the most current ways to debunk the myths of bariatric surgery.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Discuss the myths of bariatric surgery and the risks that come with it.
2. Explain the myth of recovering after bariatric surgery.
3. Analyze the myth of bariatric surgery in cancer patients.
4. Deconstruct the myth of bariatric patients who want kids.
5. Argue the myth of obesity and willpower.
6. Assess the myth of bariatric surgery being a last resort.
