Description
This continuing medical education activity is offered both as an in-person conference and an online live streaming conference. It will review current advances in complex general surgery and will enable surgeons to translate what is learned to better patient care. Changes in surgery and surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic approaches, can affect the care provided to patients. This activity will center around the areas of hernia and abdominal core health, colorectal and bariatric surgery, and practice management. Discussions will include new approaches to umbilical hernia repair; robotics versus laparoscopy; abdominal wall reconstruction; opioid reduction in hernia repairs; rectal cancers; achalasia treatment; and the impact of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery. This symposium will offer recommendations to modernize abdominal surgical care..
