Description
Medicine (AANEM). This is a practical hands-on seminar on electrodiagnostic medicine,
musculoskeletal and neuromuscular ultrasound, clinical neuromuscular physiology, and chemodenervation intended for medical physicians who wish to enhance and improve their skills. A limited number of especially qualified non-physicians may be accepted to this course. Course content is developed in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Medical Education. This course emphasizes practical skills sessions and live demonstrations of electromyographic and ultrasound techniques, management of dystonia and spasticity, and waveform analysis. Hands-on skills sessions provide opportunities for participants to interact with faculty on a daily basis.

Objectives
Upon completion of this conference the participant will be able to:1. Determine the best tests for common clinical presentations of pain, paresthesias and/or weakness.
2. Employ fundamental and advanced techniques in the EMG examination.
3. Review the evolving computerization of EMG instrumentation.
4. Determine the most effective use of neuroblocking agents for the treatment of pain,
dystonia, spasm, or spasticity.
5. Identify and understand the physiology of waveforms associated with electromyographic
findings.
6. Employ fundamental and advanced techniques in ultrasound examinations of nerve entrapments and common musculoskeletal conditions.
7. Evaluate and improve the quality of his/her electrodiagnostic reports.
8. (Optional) Assess his/her preparations for the Oral EMG Board Exam of ABEM.
