Description
It is the goal of this conference that attendees will know and utilize the optimal diagnostic, testing and therapeutic strategies in thyroid cancer. Additionally, learners will be able to recognize new scientific advances in the field that have the potential to make a great clinical impact.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify new diagnostic modalities available for the workup of patients with thyroid nodules
- Discuss recent advances in the treatment of refractory thyroid cancer
- Outline the indications for radioiodine therapy in differentiated thyroid cancer
- Define the appropriate indications for referral to a clinical trial in the evaluation of a patient with refractory thyroid cancer
- Discuss the mechanisms of cell signaling in the development and progression of thyroid cancer and how this knowledge impacts the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer.
- Outline the controversies and current recommendations in the medical and surgical management of follicular-cell derived, and medullary thyroid cancer.
- Determine the best initial management of patients with thyroid cancer
- Recognize the potential new therapeutic targets for thyroid cancer
