Objectives
1.Participants will be able to discuss what are the 2 classifications of
diabetes typically seen in adults and What medications are used to treat diabetes? How
do they work?

Participants will be able to discuss the long term complications of diabetes, especially if
poorly controlled.
3.
Participants will be able to discuss what is the hyperosmolar hypertonic nonketotic state (HHNS)
and how does it differ from DKA? How does one treat HHNS?
