Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Physician Burnout.
Learners will understand how the present practice environment for medicine has contributed to burnout in more than half of the physicians in the United States. They will be able to define the characteristics of burnout and its impact on the professional and personal lives of physicians. Using
this information, they will be able to formulate personal and organizational strategies to reduce burnout.
Participants will apply professional wisdom to process and address difficult practice situations unique to their environment of care. Increase understanding of how to maintain self-awareness and connection during challenging client/patient/family encounters. Increase awareness of how the application of mindfulness can assist with building resilience. Provide assurance and help to reframe negative self-assumptions following emotionally challenging work experiences that block self-care. Improve communication and support between all members of the clinical team via relationship building. To actuate an empowered model of compassionate self and peer care.

Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: DESCRIBE the contributions of high demand, low control, and poor support to physician burnout; DEVELOP an algorithm to enhance personal resilience and work-life integration; INCREASE awareness of the importance of self-care in building resilience; and INCREASE awareness of the need to place emphasis on building resilience into daily actives.
