The professional practice gap that is bridged by this activity is the knowledge deficit in managing complex ocular disease.  There will be a focus on preferred practice patterns as endorsed by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as physicians may not be aware of current guidelines.  There will also be an opportunity to discuss unique cases in a forum of clinicians in order to advance the medical knowledge of the group as a whole.  A variety of experience will be present from resident to attending physicians.  The goal is to leverage the knowledge and experience of various experts with the variety of experiences from the group of physicians present.  This will allow those in attendance to further their knowledge to best serve their own patients.
