Description

This two-hour in-person workshop, located in Atwell Hall, will assist you in applying the “Upstate Bias Checklist” within your own teaching and provide steps towards identifying bias and that reduce bias and increase accessibility. Collaboration with the Drake Institute for Teaching & Learning allow for 2 hours of credit towards the Inclusive Teaching endorsement through the institute. For the first hour of the workshop, we will introduce the Anti-Bias Checklist and its use for curricular review. For the second hour of the workshop, we will gather in small groups to focus on curricular content type (case studies, images, lecture, etc.) to identify best practices and resources to proceed with curricular revision. For the third hour we will take a deeper dive into thematic areas for support of inclusive teaching. These will include race, disability, gender, and mental health topics.
