Description

Please join us for the 6th Annual OSU Hand Symposium! This year, we’re excited to discuss a topic that unites us all: trauma. We will discuss management of complex upper extremity injuries from elbow to fingertip. Experts from across the state will describe how to get the best outcomes in fracture management, soft tissue coverage, and nerve and tendon reconstruction.

Dates and Times

Start: 4/26/2024 7:50 AM
End: 4/26/2024 4:15 PM

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Recognize the importance of mobilizing the proximal interphalangeal joint early, when possible

2. Describe which distal radius fractures may need unique methods of fixation to gain stability

3. Understand that appropriate, timely wound coverage is critical to limb salvage

4. Recognize primary and secondary stabilizers of the elbow as they apply to elbow fracture dislocations

5. Appreciate the importance of mobilizing the elbow quickly to attain best outcomes

6. Describe the critical steps in managing a mangled hand injury
