Objectives
-Discuss the origins of Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PCIS)
-Common features of PCIS
-Relevance to palliative care
-Growing population with chronic uncorrectable conditions that negatively impact quality of life. For example, pain is frequently reported by survivors but not really addressed in the literature other than to say it Is a problem. Their needs extend across multiple domains of palliative care and would be best served by an interdisciplinary approach.
