Description
Cardio-oncology is an expanding field that has great importance as newly developed cancer treatments improve cancer survival. With new treatments come new or unexpected cardiovascular toxicities as many cancer survivors are now living long enough to experience the potential cardiotoxic effects of these treatments. Presentations will address: cardiotoxic effects of cancer therapies; strategies to recognize when cardiovascular issues develop in cancer patients and survivors; role of cardioprotective therapy in patients requiring cancer treatment(s); how to integrate recent cardio-oncology guidelines into clinical practice and identify recent advancements and challenges diagnosing and managing cardiac amyloidosis.
This meeting is endorsed by the International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS.org). IC-OS exists to advance the quality of cardio-oncology care by collaborating among educators, researchers, clinicians, and allied health professionals from around the world.
