Description
The 2026 OSU Hospital Medicine and Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Symposium has identified important evolving topics that will be covered. We will be addressing the practice gaps created by the rapidly growing guidelines for best practices in hospital medicine and internal medicine/pediatrics care. Busy practitioners often do not have the opportunity to adequately review these new recommendations independently. As generalists, there is a wide range of knowledge that hospitalists and med/peds physicians must have to adequately care for acutely ill patients. As relatively new field, there are no local or regional organizations in Columbus, Ohio or surrounding states that focus on disseminating information to the growing number of hospitalists in this area. Similarly, med/peds physicians occupy a niche without local organizations. Many practitioners lack the flexibility to attend national meetings and thus there remains a significant need for hospital medicine continuing medical education programs.
