Objectives
- Reviewing a case study pathway demonstrating how basic neuroscience research can be translated to practice.
- Discussing advances in basic biology, including NIMH support for research on genetic risk for schizophrenia, the utility of transplanted human cortical organoids, and the Scalable and Systematic Neurobiology of Psychiatric and Neurodevelopmental Disorder Risk Genes (SSPsyGene) Consortium.
- Understanding developments in precision psychiatry, including NIMH initiatives in precision mental health, including the Individually Measured Phenotypes to Advance Computational Translation in Mental Health (IMPACT-MH) initiative.
- Reviewing NIMH efforts to support research on improvements to systems of care, including support for coordinated specialty care (CSC), the Early Psychosis Intervention Network (EPINET, Advanced Laboratories for Accelerating the Reach and Impact of Treatment for Youth and Adults with Mental Illness (ALACRITY), and Accelerating Medicines Partnership® Schizophrenia (AMP SCZ).
