Description

According to the National Institutes of Health, breast cancer affects one in eight women. Risks factors include: age, genes, being overweight, use of hormone replacement therapy, use of birth control pills, alcohol consumption and other personal factors. This activity is supported in part by educational grants from Merck and Astellas.

Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to: 1.) Review the indications for prescribing bisphosphonates for bone loss in women with breast cancer. 2.) Review the anit-tumor effects of Bisphophonates in the adjuvant setting.
