Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity the participant will be able to: 1.) Review the best practices of infection prevention related to targeted infections. 2.) Identify the purpose of the Center for Disease Control's NHSN database. 3.) Review the NHSN report and identify populations at risk for central line associated blood stream infections, ventilator associated pneumonias, urinary tract infections and surgical site infections.
