Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Management of Depression.
This presentation is designed to familiarize primary care providers with updates in guidelines regarding screening, monitoring, and treatment of depression.

Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: REVIEW recent updated clinical guidelines that address screening for depression, monitoring treatment effects, and integration of behavioral health into primary care; and REVIEW medication treatment options, their unique characteristics and how to choose between different therapies.
You’ll also learn about the following:
- Epidemiology of depression
- Different antidepressants have different properties
- Managing depressed patients in a busy primary care practice
- Identifying the suicidal patient
- Practical approach to antidepressant selection
- Setting realistic expectations for antidepressant effects
