Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Psychiatric and Behavioral Health Management in Chronic Health Conditions.
Viewers will learn about the intersection between depression and other medical conditions, how to diagnose depression in medically ill patients, and how to select antidepressant therapy with consideration to other medical conditions.
Learnesrs will also learn why behavioral health is important to address in chronic disease, common behavioral health concerns observed in chronic disease populations, ways of engaging patients in treatment, different therapeutic strategies to manage behavioral health concerns, and ways of accessing behavioral health resources in the community and online.

Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to:
- Understand why depression management is an important part of managing general medical conditions.
- Learn how to diagnose and treat depression in patients with other medical conditions.
- Teach learners different therapeutic strategies that can be used to manage behavioral health concerns
- Teach learners why it is important to consider the biopsychosocial model of health in assessing and treating chronic disease
