At the conclusion of this continuing medical education activity, participants should be able to:

1. Discuss factors contributing to the development and progression of coronary artery disease, and its prevention;
2. Describe the continuity of the various phenotypes of coronary artery disease (acute coronary syndromes, ischemic cardiomyopathy, stable angina, other) and how to approach their treatment;
3. Identify special issues related to coronary artery disease (computed tomography, hybrid revascularization, spontaneous dissection) and how to approach them;
4. Describe special patient populations with coronary artery disease (left main disease; chronic total occlusion; diabetics, etc.);
5. Correlate cardiac and coronary artery imaging to gross anatomy.

This continuing medical education activity will focus on current concepts in the diagnosis and management of patients with coronary artery disease.  Preventive measures for coronary artery disease and how to approach each phenotype of the disease will be addressed.  Special issues and special patient populations related to coronary artery disease will be presented based on cutting edge information.  Hands-on animal heart dissection is included in this activity.  Cardiac and coronary anatomy will be related to cardiac imaging.

This course is intended for fellows, residents, and early career physicians in all sub-specialties.
