Description
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. ONSITE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED BEGINNING AT 7:30 A.M., OCTOBER 27.
This continuing medical education activity will address new medication and technology that are being utilized in cardiovasuclar disease especially in electrophysiology and heart failure. Many times these disease states overlap. Physicians now need to be updated on the appropiate patient candidate criteria and pre-procedural testing for the treatments that will be discussed, such as functional mitral regurgiatation as a target for heart failure therapy.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this continuing medical education activity participants will be able to:
1. Identify drugs and therapies along with risks for hypertension;
2. Describe the rational use of pump supported PCI;
3. Identify which patients are at risk for primary pulmonary arterial hypertension;
4. Recognize oncology therapies with potential long term cardiac issues;
5. Review new drugs with cardiovascular and diabetic benefit;
6. Discuss new guidelines and indications for cardiac resynchonization therapy;
7. Discuss the prevalence and treatment of central sleep apnea in paatients with heart failure and atrial fibrillation;
8. Review the prevalance and outcomes associated with functional mitral regurgiatation in heart failure paatients;
9. Describe the pathophysiology by which functional mitral regurgitation worsens heart failure outcoms;
10. Discuss the implications of recent clinical trials evaluating the reduction of functional mitral regurgitation in heart failure patients.
