As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: describe outcomes in asthma patients with COVID- 19; apply updated evidence and guideline recommendations in the management of mild asthma, with a focus on SMART therapy; and differentiate between difficult-to-treat asthma from severe asthma, and understand the significance of asthma phenotypes and their implications in the treatment of severe asthma.

Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Asthma Update.

By the end of this presentation, learners will be able to discuss the pathophysiology of asthma, understand the impact of COVID-19 in asthma, and apply updated recommendations on the treatment of mild –moderate asthma as per the GINA 2020 Report and NIH/NAEPP 2020 guideline recommendations. By the end of this presentation, learners should be able to differentiate between difficult-to-treat and severe asthma, as well as appreciate the differences in management between the two. Learns will also gain an understanding of the emerging asthma phenotypes and their implications in the treatment of severe asthma.
