Description
This hybrid event is back by popular demand and provides a neuropharmacology update by APPS for APPs. Prior events have hosted over 500 registrants including 31 states and 8 countries! This year’s event will host APP experts in neurology who will provide pharmacologic updates on epilepsy, psychiatric conditions, neurologic emergencies, migraine management, movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis.

Objectives
- Differentiate at least one headache type that is consistent with migraine and one type that is not.
- Identify at least one evidence-based pharmacological treatment option for the acute treatment and prevention of migraine.
- Describe at least one criteria for DMT selection.
- Describe the basic mechanism of action for DMT in MS.
- Describe at least one goal of standard surveillance during DMT.
- Explain at least two common side effects of psychiatric medications and how to manage them.
- Explain at least two ways in which common psychiatric medications impact brain chemistry.
- Describe the mechanism of action of common anti-seizure medications (ASM).
- Identify at least two innovative ASM and a related clinical pearl.
- Identify at least one ASM for patients with epilepsy who have other co-morbid conditions impacting their treatment.
- Identify at least two categories of medications used in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease (PD).
- Identify at least one medication for targeted symptomatic treatment in PD.
- Describe at least one pharmacological consideration in the early, mid and late stages of PD
- Discuss at least two interventions for status epilepticus.
- Discuss blood pressure parameters for patients with neurologic injuries.
- Describe at least one pharmacologic intervention in acute herniation syndromes.
