Objectives

Objectives:
1. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the ethical conflicts between infection control policies and the rights of vulnerable patients to have essential advocacy and support during public health crises.
2. Attendees will learn how nuanced, case-by-case approaches to visitation policies can better balance the needs of vulnerable patients with public health objectives, especially in relation to cognitive and communication challenges.
3. Attendees will walk away with practical recommendations for developing equitable visitation policies that recognize family caregivers as integral partners in healthcare, particularly for patients with cognitive limitations or other vulnerabilities.
