1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit Hours

Description

Weight management medications are meant to help people who have health problems related to obesity. Health care professionals use BMI to help decide whether a patient might benefit from weight management medications. A health care professional may prescribe a medication to treat obesity if you are an adult, but weight management medications aren’t for everyone with a high BMI. When combined with lifestyle and behavior changes, including healthy eating and increased physical activity, prescription medications help some people lose weight and maintain weight loss.
Medications for Obesity is the topic of this week's OSUMC East Hospital Grand Rounds. Sarah Leupold, PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist, and Sara Li, MD, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, are the expert panelists in this MedNet 21 webcast moderated by Shengyi Mao, MD, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine. This presentation will be available as an in-person presentation in Wallace Auditorium, April 24 at 12:00 noon.
