Description
Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Gender Affirming Care.
Using 2 patient cases, we will walk through how to begin hormone therapy for gender affirmation. This will include a brief overview of the risks, benefits, side effects and prescribing considerations for both feminizing and masculinizing cross-sex hormone therapy.
Learners will understand the difference between Sex and Gender, and learn about disparities that transgender and gender diverse persons face in healthcare.

educational activity, webcast participants will be able to:
- Review
feminizing gender affirming hormone therapy including types of medications
used, contraindications, risks, and benefits of treatment.
- Review masculinizing hormone
therapy including contraindications, risks, and benefits of treatment and how
this treatment may differ for non-binary individuals.
- Learn
the difference between Sex and Gender
- Learn
to create a safe, supportive space for gender diverse individuals
