Description
Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Pink Slips and Pink Slip Disorders.
Learners will understand how to identify behavioral health crisis situations that warrant immediate evaluation through correctly using Ohio’s application for emergency admission form, also known as a “pink slip.” Learners will identify similar processes in other jurisdictions, as well as the ethical and legal basis for this process. Case examples as well as strategies to maintain a therapeutic alliance with the patient will be reviewed.

Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: IDENTIFY the purpose of the application for emergency admission form (“pink slip”) in managing a behavioral health emergency; and DESCRIBE common situations that would warrant the need for involuntary
emergency psychiatric treatment.
You’ll also learn about the following:
- Common reasons for involuntary hospitalization
- How a person is involuntarily hospitalized and how long does it lasts
- Behavioral Emergency ResponseTeam (BERT)
- Managing the suicidal patient in the primary care office
