Description

There are many invasive and endoscopic procedures (Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy, endoscopic ultrasound directed transgrastric ERCP (EDGE), per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM)) which have been recently developed and are performed at a handful of centers in the country. Our experienced GI endoscopy faculty has been trained and/or has experience with many of these novel procedures. As an academic insitution it is our mission to educate the the target audience of this symposium community about these novel procedures, their indication, and outcomes- as the vast majority does not know or does not perform these procedures.
This will be a web-based conference with printed material and links to review the presentations which will be made available to the participants. Formal presentations, follow by Q& A sessions and case based activities to show the value of the endoscopic procedures and enhance the didactic sessions will also be provided.

Objectives

At the end of this activity, learners will be able to:

- Evaluate endoscopic treatment strategies for chronic pancreatitis
- Review how to diagnose and evaluate pancreatic cysts.
- Identify indications and outcomes of the EDGE procedure for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
- Recognize third space endoscopy indications, outcomes and limitations and future directions
- Open panel discussion on medical and therapeutic management of invasive endoscopic cases
