Description
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is excited to be back in person for the 14th Annual Ruberg Symposium. This 8.5 hour CME program is open to all faculty, residents, fellows, students and local practitioners and will take place on Thursday, September 22nd and Friday, September 23rd. Explore the latest advancements in plastic and reconstructive surgery and discuss topics in diversity, equity, inclusion and mentorship with experts in the field.
There will also be a Welcome Dinner on Thursday September 22nd at The Grand Event Center (820 Goodale Blvd, Grandview Heights, OH 43212). The Keynote Speech will start at 8:00pm.

Objectives
- Describe the etiology of biofilms and how they affect wound healing.
- Review how to manage and reduce the incidence of biofilms to maximize wound healing.
- Explain when a patient would benefit from revisional breast surgery.
- Assess the potential options for revisional breast surgery and best implementation of those techniques.
- Identify & evaluate which patients are candidates for lymphedema surgery.
- Describe the ideal timing and operative intervention for patients with lymphedema.
- Identifying implicit bias and recognizing ways to mitigate it regarding recruitment.
- Evaluate the proper procedure(s) for body contouring.
- Illustrate the complications and limitations of body contouring.
- Review the impact of proper mentorship models to maximize the mentor/mentee relationship.
- Review complications and alternative treatment options for said complications after plastic surgery.
- Review how to avoid the complications presented after plastic surgery.
- Identify the challenges women face in leadership positions.
