Description
The colorectal landscape is ever evolving. Because of the significant advances in the understanding of the pathogenesis of diseases, diagnosis, treatment and overall management of colorectal diseases over the last decade surgeons require ongoing education and insight regarding proper patient selection current and emerging therapies assessing benefits/risks, the utilization of imaging modalities and the use of implementation of assessment tools in order to improve patient care and overall health and outcomes of patients. Additionally, there are emerging hot topics that impact all colorectal surgeons including current treatment modalities of rectal cancer including total neoadjuvant treatment (TNT), advanced endoluminal surgical and minimally invasive techniques as well as robotic surgery.
