Description
This program will provide an overview of management principles and best practices for complex patients with a range of
liver diseases, including hepatocellular carcinoma, viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease (MASLD), alcohol use disorder and
the spectrum of alcoholic liver disease, liver disease in pregnancy, and liver transplantation. Given the expected
increase in the burden of liver disease and liver cancer, it is essential to update practitioners on the latest clinical
guidelines and treatment strategies. This educational session aims to address existing gaps in knowledge and
management, providing healthcare professionals with the tools necessary to enhance their approach to liver disease
care. Topics to be covered include: management of Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), liver disease during pregnancy, hepatic
manifestations of systemic immune disorders, updates in viral hepatitis and Hepatitis B (HBV), innovations in liver
transplantation, alcoholic liver disease, management of non-hepatic malignancies, advances in MASLD, the role of
artificial intelligence in hepatology, and co-management of cirrhosis with primary care providers.
