Description

Sarcoma is a rare cancer, comprising only 1% of adult malignancies, with over 100 distinct subtypes. Effective treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach, tailored to the specific subtype, with precise timing and modalities. While progress in research has been slow, leading to limited new treatments, recent advancements offer new hope. These include next-generation sequencing, biomarkers, proton therapy, and immunotherapy. However, physicians outside of large referral centers often face a gap in understanding and applying these cutting-edge treatments. We are privileged to welcome Dr. Silvia Stacchiotti, MD, a world-renowned expert in sarcoma, who will be joined by other leading specialists from the James Cancer Center to share their expertise on these emerging therapies and advancements.
