The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center - Columbus, OH
1 Day Conference September 19th, 2025
5.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit Hours

Description

There is a clear and well-documented gap between what healthcare professionals currently practice in terms of addressing burnout and workforce wellbeing and what is achievable based on current evidence. While effective interventions—such as workflow redesign, team-based care, and resilience training—have been shown to reduce burnout and improve care quality, many clinicians and leaders lack the competence (knowledge and skills) and performance (application in clinical settings) to implement these strategies effectively.

This activity is designed to improve learner competence by increasing knowledge of the systemic and organizational drivers of burnout and equipping participants with evidence-based strategies to promote clinician and team wellbeing.  It also targets learner performance by enabling participants to apply these strategies in their own clinical environments—such as redesigning workflows, implementing peer support, or leading culture change initiatives.  Ultimately, this activity aims to improve patient health by reducing the negative impact of clinician burnout on care quality, safety, communication, and continuity, and to promote community/population health through workforce stabilization and improved access to engaged, well-supported care teams.
