Objectives

-Be able to describe the application of the Ecodevelopmental framework to investigate the structural and social determinants of health in youth.
-Be able to give examples of health determinants of youth neurocognitive development.
-Be able to give examples of health determinants of alcohol and substance use in youth.
-Be able to define the terms: (i) racial and ethnic minoritized youth, (ii) health disparity, (iii) structural and social determinants of health (S/SDOH).
-Be able to identify the relative strengths of quantitative vs. qualitative research methods in application to Ecodevelopmental models and S/SDOH in adolescent substance use research.
