Description
Anna Pfenniger, MD PhD is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University. She received her MD and PhD at the University of Geneva, followed by internal medicine residency at UMass, and cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at Northwestern University. Her research activity during training focused on mechanisms of atrial fibrillation and gene therapy applications as supported by a HRS Research Fellowship. This dual training supported the transition to Faculty as a physician-scientist, combining clinical activity and translational research focusing on atrial arrhythmias. Her current research as supported by NIH and AHA investigates the mechanisms by which endothelial dysfunction promotes atrial fibrillation.
