Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Epilepsy Update.
Would like the practitioner to be confident in the evaluation and basic treatment of spells and seizures. Would like them also to be aware of the many advances in treatment over the last many years.

Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: UNDERSTAND the basic diagnosis of spells and seizures; LEARN basic medication treatment for epilepsy; and REVIEW advanced treatment options for refractory epilepsy including epilepsy surgery and devices.
You’ll also learn about the following:
- Acute management of the patient having a seizure
- Anti-epileptic drugs
- Choosing between medication, surgery, or a vagal nerve stimulator
- Advising patients about driving
