Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Thyroid Cancer.

This presenter would like to convey to the audience that thyroid cancer is NOT the ‘good’ cancer. Many PCPs tell this to their patients in order to reassure them and provide comfort when faced with the diagnosis. While their intentions are likely good, it sends a message to the patient that they should not be upset by the diagnosis. Thankfully most patients will have an excellent survival. The process of being diagnosed with thyroid cancer does impose a significant impact on the patient’s quality of life and puts them at risk of complications from the therapy.

She will review the management of thyroid cancer, emphasizing some of the recent changes in treatment.
