Objectives

- Participants will learn and review the historical context of stimulant use in sport and how
use patterns have influenced regulatory guidelines.
- Participants will be able to identify a variety of considerations to be reviewed when
prescribing stimulants for athletes and the biological and psychological impact of the
decision to treat.
- Participants will be able to engage with the contemporary debate regarding stimulant
bans and allowance among elite athletes and be given the space to generate their own
thoughts about this topic.
