Objectives

•Accurately diagnose perinatal mood disorders, specially differentiating between major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder.




•Assess the “risk-risk” for a patient, evaluating risk associated with untreated psychiatric illness vs. risk associated with use of medication in pregnancy.




•Assess optimal pharmacologic treatment options based on a patient's history, medication indication, and medication safety profile for patients with mood disorders in pregnancy.
