Objectives

• Describe key principles of gender-affirming care and explain its importance in promoting physical and mental health of transgender patients.

•Identify and apply respectful and inclusive communication strategies, such as the use of preferred names, pronouns, and inclusive language when interacting with transgender patients.

• Understand and apply the unique assessment, physical examination, and clinical skills needed to provide patient-centered, trauma-informed care.
